We Call Them Home - Art Book
We Call Them Home is a 9x12, hardcover, museum quality art book. Its cover is a matte laminate image wrap featuring MCAS Beaufort's welcome sign. Inside there are white end pages followed by 18 reproductions of original ink and watercolor pieces, which include the 17 US Marine Corps Bases as well as the Commandants' house. Each image is printed on heavyweight paper with ample white space to record your Marine Corps' life events either on the page of the base image, or on one of the 4 blank pages in the back. In addition to the artwork in the book, there are historical comments on each base written by fellow Marine Corps Spouse, and a student of history, Jennifer Mazzara, who also spent time working with the Marine Corps University. The book is organized in the "order of designation" to let you page through the Marine Corps' homes through history. Entirely produced in the USA, it was designed and published by the artist (me), Elizabeth Hackett, and printed in Rochester, NY by Book1One Printing.
This book is an excellent option for recording your own "Marine Corps Homes" or to give as a gift - be it to someone just starting out in the Corps, midway through, or retiring!
While this book stands beautifully on it's own, the white space allows it to be used as a guest book at your retirement, or even for your wedding! "In the midst"? This book is a great "Marine Corps Yearbook" to collect notes from your dear neighbors over your years in the corps. Need an extra special hostess gift? What Marine Corps hostess wouldn't love a coffee table book like this?!? It also serves as a particularly good "Fairwell" book (signed by everyone in the unit as a bonus), or a thank-you for a guest speaker or dignitary. All images in the book are also available as individual prints and on a variety of other mediums such as mugs, greeting cards, pillows and totes!
